Which film would be best for wedding photography in a low-light setting with artificial light?
Need professinal film that will have great grain quality using artificail available light only
I like Fuji NPH 400 rated @ 320 for weddings (meaning overexpose by 1/3 stop as if ISO 320 film and develop as 400). Combine with a fast lens. If you need a bit more speed Fuji NPZ rated @ 640 is good too, but it’s understandably more grainy so I prefer NPH. I find NPH so good, I don’t even bother using the slower NPS 160 when I can.
The equivalent Kodak Portra films (eg. 400 NC) are also good pro portrait films, but I happen to have more experience with and prefer the Fuji.
If you shoot any of these films do yourself a favour and get them developed and printed at a pro lab that handles these films regularly. Otherwise you’re just wasting money on expensive film and not getting much benefit.
